Today is one of the major religious festivals of the Hindu community, the worship of Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge and fine arts. Devotees will invoke the pure and benevolent Goddess Saraswati with reverence. Various puja pandals across the country will resonate with the sounds of drums, cymbals, conches, and ululations.
According to the scriptures, every year, on the fifth day of the waxing moon in the month of Magh, the pure and benevolent Goddess of knowledge is worshipped. As the goddess of wealth, intellect, knowledge, success, liberation, and power, followers of Sanatan Dharma worship Goddess Saraswati for her blessings.
Goddess Saraswati is depicted in white attire. She holds the Vedas in one hand and a veena in the other, which is why she is also known as "Bina-Pani." According to Sanatan beliefs, the Goddess, who is the embodiment of knowledge and wisdom, appears every year to inspire the minds of her devotees with her blessings.
Students, in particular, focus on this worship. Saraswati Puja will be observed in various schools, colleges, universities, and homes. Although pujas will be held in various areas and educational institutions in Dhaka, the main center for the celebration of Saraswati Puja is the Jagannath Hall ground at Dhaka University.
