Rupana Chakma, the goalkeeper of the national women's football team, is suffering from fatherlessness. He said that he did not get a chance to feel the love of his father because he was fatherless before birth. On Father's Day or when other footballer's parents come to the camp, those times become very difficult for him.
After being awarded as the best goalkeeper in the 2022 SAFF Women's Championship in Nepal, Rupana won the same honor this year in the 2024 SAFF Women's Championship. During the financial crisis in childhood, it became difficult for him to survive as he did not have money to buy medicine. Rupna said, “There was no condition to survive because there was no money to buy medicine. No one came forward. After surviving that, I have become the best goalkeeper in the subcontinent today."
Rupana said that he started his football career as a striker, but one day when a goalkeeper was needed, he stood under three sticks. Even though he has reached the peak of success in his current life, the sadness of his childhood haunts him.
