The administration suspended four officials including the deputy registrar in connection with the death of Afsana Rachi, a student of the marketing department, who was hit by a rickshaw on the campus of Jahangirnagar University.

 The university administration has declared a day of mourning on Wednesday (November 20). All classes and exams have been suspended on this occasion. A notification signed by the acting registrar at 12:30 pm informed that the university flag will be kept at half-mast on the day of mourning and bus services will be suspended on all campus routes.
