The government has decided to give a loan of 60 crore rupees to the workers of the Beximco group for the payment of their salaries for the month of October. This decision was taken in a meeting of the officials of the Ministry of Labor and Employment and the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday (November 19) in the Secretariat. Labor Secretary AHM Safikuzzaman said in a statement, "It has been decided to pay the last month's salary to settle the labor grievances of the Beximco Group."

Beximco Group Director (Finance and Corporate Affairs) Osman Qaiser Chowdhury said that the Labor Ministry will give Tk 10 crore and the Finance Department will give Tk 50 crore as loan. "We will need 80 crore rupees to pay the salaries of our workers. We will arrange the remaining 20 crore rupees ourselves," he said.

About 40 thousand workers are working in Beximco Industrial Park. Production is being disrupted due to raw material import issues and political reasons. Osman Qaiser Chowdhury said, "As raw materials cannot be imported, the workers are forced to pay their wages." "In the current situation there is no option but to close the factory," he added.
