For the past few years, the Bishwa Ijtema of the Tabligh Jamaat has been held in two phases, and this year will be no exception. In February 2025, the world Ijtema of the two factions of Tabligh Jamaat will take place as usual in two phases.
This information was shared by the Security Advisor, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, following a meeting held at the secretariat on Monday.
He mentioned that the first phase of the Ijtema in 2025 will be held from January 31 to February 2, and the second phase will take place from February 7 to February 9 on the banks of the Turag River in Tongi.
Earlier, on Sunday, a notice issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs stated that a meeting would be held on Monday, chaired by the Security Advisor, to determine the dates for the upcoming Bishwa Ijtema, maintain law and order, ensure security, and address other relevant issues concerning the two groups of Tabligh Jamaat (Zobayer and Sade).
Due to internal conflicts within the Tabligh Jamaat, the Ijtema has been organized separately in two phases over the past few years.
