Eighteen-year-old Arman Hossain committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of the Jamuna Future Park in the capital.

On Monday (November 4), the police from the Vatara Thana sent his body for an autopsy at the Dhaka Medical College morgue. Arman jumped from the fifth floor of the Jamuna Future Park around 3:45 PM on Sunday. He was later taken to Evercare Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Riajul Islam of the Vatara Thana stated that Arman jumped from the park's fifth floor on Sunday afternoon. After that, security personnel took him to Evercare Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the doctors.

The SI further mentioned that after receiving the news, the youth's body was recovered from the hospital and sent to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for an autopsy. The cause of his suicide is still unclear based on initial investigations, but it is believed that his mother has been seriously ill for a long time and the family is facing financial difficulties.

Meanwhile, Arman’s cousin Mohammad Rokon shared that on Sunday afternoon, Arman's friend, Shadhin, went to Jamuna Future Park to give his fingerprints in preparation for going abroad. Shadhin brought Arman along. After entering to give his fingerprints, Arman called Shadhin and said, "You won't find me anymore, friend. Tell my cousin Rubel to take care of my mother." With that, Arman hung up the phone. Later, it was learned that he jumped from the fifth floor.

Rokon said they do not know much about the incident, but Arman had a volatile temperament. He was addicted to mobile phones and demanded a new one every year, but the family was not financially stable.

Arman was born in the village of Mashadia in the Lakhaai Upazila of Habiganj district and lived with his family in Ram pura Hajipara. He worked at his uncle Ilian Talukdar Rana’s rice hotel in New Bazaar, but recently he was working at his father Renu Mia’s junk shop. Arman was the second among four brothers and three sisters. His mother, Shamsuzzaman, had been quite ill and was hospitalized at Dhaka Medical College for several days, but is currently at home.
