Six-year-old Muntaha Akter Jerin remains missing after six days in Birdal village of Kanaighat upazila, Sylhet. Her father, Shamim Ahmad, said, "Last Sunday morning, after returning home from a local religious gathering with my daughter, she went to play with children in nearby houses as usual. When she didn't return home after 3 PM, we started searching for her."

 The family claims that Muntaha was deliberately kidnapped. A general diary has been filed at Kanaighat Police Station regarding the incident. The family has announced a reward of one lakh taka for information leading to the capture of the kidnappers. Neighbor Md. Shahed Ahmad reports that there is still no trace of Muntaha, and the search continues.
