Asif Nazrul, the legal advisor to the interim government, stated that substantial evidence of genocide has been found during the student and public protests. He remarked, "When we soon begin the trials for the brutal genocide of July-August, you will see that many of our doubts and questions will be resolved."
He made these remarks while responding to journalists' questions after a meeting with members of the Hindu community at the Shri Shri Mahaprabhu’s Akhra Puja Mandap in Sirajganj municipality this Friday afternoon. Emphasizing the current government's commitment to ensuring justice, Asif Nazrul told reporters, "The International Crime Tribunal (ICT) will be formed within a week. In fact, its work has already begun. Our prosecution team was formed about a month ago, and our investigation team has been in place for two weeks."
Asif Nazrul further added, "In this country, none of us are minorities or majorities. We are all citizens of Bangladesh. We will all enjoy equal dignity and rights in Bangladesh. We will respect each other's religions and live in peace and happiness."
Earlier, during his speech at the meeting with members of the Hindu community at Shri Shri Mahaprabhu’s Akhra Puja Mandap, Asif Nazrul addressed them, saying, "Never fall into the traps of any political party. You are the people of Bangladesh, and you should live freely. No political party has refrained from using you. Since we came into power, we realized that enough is enough. Never feel threatened or helpless. Under the leadership of the Chief Advisor and with the support of anti-discriminatory student groups, we will do whatever is possible for you from our side."
