Afsana Karim Rachi, a 53 batch student of Marketing Department of Jahangirnagar University lost her life due to a reckless autorickshaw. He was first taken to Jabi Medical Center after being hit by a rickshaw in front of the university's new art building around 7:30 pm on Tuesday. Later, when he was taken to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar, the doctor on duty declared him brought dead.

Eyewitnesses said the speeding rickshaw hit him while crossing the road, causing him to crash into a tree. Enam Medical College Dr. Sabbir said, “I did not get his heartbeat. There were dark marks of heavy injuries on the chest.” Sabuj, the hospital's duty manager, said, "His teeth were knocked out along with his entire gum, probably because of this injury he died."

In this incident, the students have complained of reckless traffic on the campus and negligence of the administration. Demands have been made on social media to ensure traffic control and safety measures. Students of batch 53 have called for a protest march to protest the irresponsibility of the administration demanding justice for this incident.
