Former Member of Parliament Barrister Syed Saeedul Haque Suman appeared in court today, crying. He then apologized to the lawyers.

On Tuesday (October 22), Dhaka's Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Zakir Hossain granted a five-day remand for him in a murder attempt case.

After the hearing, Suman wanted to speak to the Public Prosecutor (PP) Omar Faruk of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court. However, Omar Faruk avoided him. At that time, Suman said, "I won’t say anything separately to you, sir. I express my regrets to all the lawyers through you. I am very sorry, sir."

Earlier, the investigating officer, Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Abdul Halim of Mirpur Model Police Station, applied for a 10-day remand for Suman in court.

During this time, his lawyer, Morshed Hossain Shaheen, sought bail while canceling the remand. He stated, "Barrister Suman is a brilliant lawyer. Besides practicing law, he is also a social worker and politician. The allegations against him are intentional."

On the other hand, the state's lawyer, Public Prosecutor Omar Faruk Faruk, strongly opposed the bail application and sought the maximum remand for the accused. He stated, "Barrister Suman has repeatedly deceived people by exploiting their emotions. Under the guise of public service, he has always worked as an accomplice to fascism."

It is known that during the anti-discrimination student movement on July 19, a person named Hridoy was shot while participating in the protest after offering Jummah prayers in the Mirpur-10 area. He is the Senior Vice President of the Youth Wing of the 10 No. Hatiain Union in Madhabpur, Habiganj. Following this incident, on September 23, the victim filed a murder attempt case at the Mirpur Model Police Station. Barrister Suman is the third accused in this case.
