The ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will no longer be able to return to the country for political purposes. She is inciting her supporters to engage in an anti-government movement. This was stated by interim government information adviser Nahid Islam at an event held on Sunday (October 20) to mark the anniversary of the National Press Club.
He stated, "I want to say that Sheikh Hasina will no longer be able to return to Bangladesh for political purposes; she will only return to face the death penalty."
Nahid said, "Sheikh Hasina is responsible for the police deaths during the July mass uprising. We had called for a peaceful transfer of power, but she ignored it and unleashed a flood of blood in the country. Snipers fired on protesting students until noon on August 5."
Adviser Nahid Islam remarked, "I told Time Magazine that Sheikh Hasina is a psychopath and a bloodsucker, and it has now been proven. We initially started our movement in a systematic manner, but the government’s thugs attacked us."
He added, "We have repeatedly called for our demands to be met, but they have placed us in front of guns. You have seen how we have been abducted and tortured."
He further stated, "I want to warn those who are still trying to make life unbearable for the public by inciting the fugitive Awami League leaders and activists. We must identify and expel the supporters of fascism from the media, as we want a fascism-free media. A new Bangladesh cannot be formed without a fascism-free media."
He said, "On August 5, Sheikh Hasina secretly fled the country after instructing all her leaders, activists, and police forces to remain in the field. Many police officers died that day because of Sheikh Hasina's decision. She is responsible for the deaths of all the police officers in this movement."
