The Ministry of Commerce has sanctioned the import of an additional 40 million eggs to boost supply and stabilize the market. An official notification was issued by the ministry’s internal trade-1 wing on Wednesday.
The notification states that 12 traders have been granted permission to import the eggs, with the import permits valid until December 31, 2024. This decision follows a previous allowance on October 8, when seven designated firms were permitted to import 40.5 million eggs to tackle fluctuations in the egg market.
