The interim government has decided to waive the salaries and tuition fees for students injured in the anti-discrimination movement. The education ministry announced this information in a notification on Tuesday. The notification also outlines the procedures that must be followed to apply for the fee waivers.
According to the notification, the government has taken this decision to waive the salaries and tuition fees of students from secondary to university levels (including all government and private schools, colleges, madrasas, technical institutions, and universities) who were injured during the mass uprising of students and the public in July-August 2024. Injured students are required to submit their applications along with medical prescriptions to the heads of their respective educational institutions.
