Bangladesh secured the SAFF Women’s Championship title for the second consecutive time, defeating host Nepal 2-1 in a hard-fought final at the Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
After a goalless first half, Monika Chakma broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute, but Nepal’s Amisha equalized three minutes later. The winning goal came in the 81st minute when Ritu Porna Chakma found the net, sealing the victory for Bangladesh.
This win marks Bangladesh’s second SAFF Women’s Championship crown, both achieved by defeating Nepal in Kathmandu. Bangladesh claimed their first title in 2022 with a 3-1 win over the hosts in the final.
