Another martyr of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has been identified, and the body has been found at the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) morgue.

This was confirmed by Hasan Imam, secretary of the July Mass Uprising Special Cell, on Sunday (January 12). Speaking to a private television channel, Hasan Imam mentioned, "We discovered the bodies of six martyrs on Friday (January 10). All were unidentified and are now under Shahbagh Police Station. However, we received information on Friday night that a family had recognized another body, which was under Jatrabari Police Station. We are heading to verify this, and we will confirm after conducting the necessary examinations, including a DNA test."

In the meantime, sources from the DMC revealed that a woman, Selina Begum, came to the morgue and identified a body as her husband's. The deceased, Kabil Hossain, was a fishmonger. On the night of Saturday (January 11), Selina Begum, along with Tanvir Ahmed Raju, visited the morgue and confirmed the identification.

Tanvir Ahmed Raju stated that Selina Begum, wife of Kabil Hossain, recognized her husband's body at the morgue. Selina Begum works as a cook at their Karwan Bazar office, while her husband was a fish trader.

Selina Begum shared that their home is in Manik Nagar, Mugda. Her husband, Kabil Hossain, left their house on the morning of August 5 last year and had not returned since. "We searched for him everywhere, but we couldn't find him. On Friday night, we saw a post on Facebook about six unclaimed bodies at the Dhaka Medical morgue. We went directly to the morgue and identified Kabil's body in a freezer."

Ramu Das, in-charge of the Dhaka Medical College Morgue, stated that seven bodies, including a woman’s, have been kept in the DMC mortuary since the student movement in July last year. Post-mortems have been conducted on all the bodies. As no relatives were found, DNA tests were carried out for all the bodies. Several individuals claiming to be relatives visited the morgue, but none were able to identify the bodies.
