Now, student leaders Hasanat Abdullah and Sargis Alam have filed a writ to ban the Awami League. The writ was submitted to the High Court on Monday (October 28).
It has been reported that a dual bench in the High Court will hear the case. The writ states that a directive is sought to prevent the Awami League from conducting any political activities.
The filing of the writ has been confirmed by lawyer Advocate Ahsanul Karim. He stated that this writ aims to halt the political activities of the party. Previously, on October 23, the interim government's Ministry of Home Affairs issued a declaration banning the Bangladesh Chhatra League and designating it as a terrorist organization.
On October 19, during an event, Hasanat mentioned that given the way they have violated humanity, they have no minimum claim to humanity. He also pointed out that Nazi forces in Germany and certain groups in Italy have been banned. Similarly, the political activities of the Awami League should also be terminated. Members of the Awami League, Chhatra League, and Jubo League need to be legally prohibited from the land of Bengal.
