Mahfuz Alam, Special Assistant to the Interim Government's Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, said that the government is considering banning 14 parties including the Awami League.
He gave this information at a press conference held after a meeting with political parties at the Foreign Service Academy on Hare Road in the capital on Saturday evening.
He also said that the government will soon form a search committee to reorganize the Election Commission. The Chief Adviser assured the parties participating in the dialogue that the interim government would form a six-member search committee maintaining a non-partisan position.
