Inspector General of Police (IGP) Moinul Islam said in an event organized at Rangpur District Police Lines School and College grounds on Saturday (October 26) afternoon, "A notification has been issued banning Chhatra League. From now on this organization is completely banned. If anyone marches on behalf of the Chhatra League or the organization itself, they will be arrested immediately.”

 In the event, the IGP urged the police not to think of them as adversaries and said, "The police want to be friends of the people." We are trying our best to restore public confidence. We do not want people's faith in the entire force to be lost because of the irregularities of some members."

 Regarding the role of the police in the student movement, he said that strict action will be taken against the police members involved in the student movement. They will be brought to justice. So far 21 policemen have been arrested.
