The government has ordered Mohammed Kamrul Islam, Labour Counsellor at Bangladesh Mission in Geneva, to return home following the harassment incident involving Law Adviser Asif Nazrul.
Sources from the Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry confirmed today that Kamrul Islam has been "stand released" due to his "inaction" during the incident, which occurred while Asif Nazrul was preparing to enter the airport.
A viral video on social media shows a group of people confronting Asif Nazrul aggressively, chanting slogans such as "Joy Bangla" and "Joy Bangabandhu." Despite being present during the altercation, Kamrul Islam reportedly remained silent throughout the confrontation.
