Sheikh Hasina left the country along with her younger sister Sheikh Rehana after resigning from the post of Prime Minister in the mass movement of students on August 5 and is currently staying in India. Recently, Sohail Taj, son of former Prime Minister Tajuddin Ahmed, gave an interview to a national daily about his departure. In the interview, he commented on Sheikh Hasina's charisma and the experience of working with her.
Sohel Taj said, "I know why everyone loses themselves when they come in contact with Sheikh Hasina. It's an amazing talent, you're weak in front of him." Referring to the formation of the Awami League government in early 2009, he said, "We had a dream of change, but we could not keep that promise. The people have been betrayed."
On leaving the ministry, Sohail Taj said, he faced many obstacles when he returned to the country. Even after calling Sheikh Hasina to request her resignation, she could not be persuaded.
