Actor and presenter Shahriar Nazim Joy has faced various forms of harassment since the anti-discrimination student movement. In addition, allegations have surfaced against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia related to an attempted murder case.
Overall, this is a difficult period for the actor, who has been losing work in the entertainment industry due to various controversies. Joy recently spoke out about his situation.
Joy claims to have played a leading role in the web film *Tribhuj*, which was released on October 10. However, despite being a central character, he was excluded from the film’s promotional campaign.
Joy expressed his frustration, saying, "I played a key role in this film like everyone else. My director, producer, and co-actors were all happy with my performance, and so was Deepta. Yet, my picture wasn’t used in any of the film’s promotions, nor was I included in the trailer."
He then questioned, “What crime have I committed?” He believes that his outspoken stance during the anti-discrimination movement may be the reason for his exclusion. "As an artist, I was the only one who repeatedly voiced my opinions and made my position clear," Joy added.
The actor admitted that these events have taken a toll on him. "I’ve been trolled and had my livelihood taken away over small things blown up on social media. Acting is how I earn my living. Being left out of the poster says a lot about my future in the industry."
Joy also mentioned that Raihan Rafi's first web series, *Black Money*, was recently announced. It’s expected to be a major project, and Joy was originally set to be a part of it. However, before shooting began, he was abruptly dropped from the cast without any clear explanation.
Recalling the incident, Joy said, "One day, Rafi called me and told me that the authorities had asked to avoid me for the time being. For three months, I had been dreaming of working on this project. And now, what am I to think? Farewell, actor Shahriar Nazim Joy.
