Along with the news of Shakib Khan’s upcoming film ‘Dord’ being released, another piece of news has emerged. The court has dismissed the case filed by Shakib Khan against producer Mohammad Rahmat Ullah, as the allegations made by Shakib were not initially proven. Dhaka Cyber Tribunal Judge A.M. Zulfiqar Hayat recently dismissed the case, resulting in producer Rahmat Ullah being freed from the charges. However, Shakib Khan’s lawyer, Khairul Hasan, stated that they are preparing to go to the higher court to request a reinvestigation of the case.
According to court sources, on April 24 of this year, the investigating officer of the case, PBI Inspector Golam Muqtadir Ashraf Uddin, submitted the investigation report. The report mentioned that the allegations made under sections 24, 25, and 29 of the Digital Security Act 2018 were not initially proven. Shakib Khan’s lawyer, Khairul Hasan, filed a petition against this report, but on September 1, since Shakib Khan was absent due to illness, the tribunal rejected their request for more time and dismissed the case.
PBI’s investigation report stated that evidence, including a pen drive provided by the plaintiff, had been reviewed and the location had been inspected. However, no significant information was found from the URLs mentioned in the complaint. Additionally, based on the statements of witnesses and the evidence collected, the crime was not initially proven to be true.
Lawyer Khairul Hasan mentioned that they are preparing to take the case to the higher court for a review. It is notable that Shakib Khan filed a case against producer Rahmat Ullah under the Digital Security Act in Dhaka Cyber Tribunal on March 27, 2023.
Meanwhile, the release of Shakib Khan's new film ‘Dord’ has been announced by director Anonno Mamun, who stated that the film will be released worldwide on November 15, creating excitement among fans.
