Popular Kannada filmmaker Gurupasad has tragically passed away under mysterious circumstances. His decomposed body was found by police in his flat in Madanayakanahalli, Bengaluru, on November 3rd.
Reports indicate that Gurupasad was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in the living room of his apartment. Initial assessments suggest that he may have taken his own life due to financial difficulties and the burden of debts. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
According to Indian media outlet NDTV, neighbors had not seen Gurupasad leave his home for several days. Concerned by a foul odor emanating from the apartment, they alerted the police, who subsequently recovered the filmmaker's decomposed body.
In addition to his successful career behind the camera, Gurupasad was also well-known in front of it, having acted in several Kannada films. He had recently remarried.
The news of Gurupasad's death has cast a pall of grief over the Kannada film industry. He had earned significant acclaim for directing popular films such as "Mata," "Edelu Manjunatha," and "Special."
