Next Friday, Dhaka's superstar Shakib Khan's new film 'Dard' will be released in 70 cinemas across the country. The film will also be released in over 400 cinemas in 20 countries, including Bangladesh and India.
Nowadays, teasers, trailers, and multiple songs are released before a film's release. Director Ananya Mamun has shared that his team is following the same strategy.
Regarding the film's promotion, the director said, "The situation in the country has changed; new events happen every day, and the political situation is unstable. The current situation cannot be compared with the past. However, we are promoting the film in various ways, and a large-scale promotion is also underway in Kolkata."
'Dard' is a psychological thriller wrapped in a love story. The director explained the plot, saying, "In Varanasi, several influential people are murdered, and suspicion falls on a man named Dulu Mia from the city, played by Shakib Khan. The film contains both thriller elements and a tumultuous love story."
Shakib's co-star in 'Dard' is Indian actress Sonal Chauhan. The shooting began last October.
The 149-minute long film features a total of seven songs, four of which are in Bengali and three in Hindi. Earlier, a teaser for 'Dard' was released in April, showing Shakib in two different roles. In the one-and-a-half-minute teaser, Shakib appears both as a calm, quiet young man and as a murderer.
The film was shot in Varanasi and Allahabad, India. Besides Shakib and Sonal, the film also stars Kolkata's Payel Sarkar, Bishwajit Chakraborty, Rajesh Sharma, Rahul Dev, Alok Jain, and many others.
In addition to Bengali, 'Dard' will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
